Now available: Timbuk2’s Especial collection!
bagcollector: Oh man. It’s finally here. Timbuk2’s Especial collection! Four models, with pro features for serious carry.
There’s the Dos, a netbook backpack on steroids:

($119)
The Tres, obviously inspired by the Hemlock:

($209)
The Cuatro flap backpack (Swig++?):

($229)
And the Viaje, a pannier:

($229)
They’re a little on the pricier side, but I really like that Timbuk2 is creating bags with high-end features. For example:
- the Tres, Cuatro, and Viaje have welded seams on the laptop pockets for increased water protection.
- All four have a routing system for hydration or headphones.
- All four are made of 500 denier Cordura.
- All four come with back padding, detachable sternum straps, and bottle openers(!).
Me? I want the Tres, because I feel like it’s what the Hemlock should have been (mostly the waterproof features, but also the better back padding, sternum strap, and headphone routing).
What do you guys think? Any of these making you drool?
Timbuk2 is 23 years old, still making custom-made bags in San Francisco.
